Big Claw

I don't think I ever posted a photo of Big Claw, Emma's pet crayfish. Emma adopted him last spring, after he retired from 3rd grade science observations.  You can see why he was named Big Claw.  His claw was probably 3 inches long. Well, we lost Big Claw last month.  After a small burial, Emma was actually relieved a bit not to have to take care of him anymore.

We also got a crayfish from school and the kids named her "Assassinatia." I thought that was a pretty decent name for a crayfish. She died about 2 weeks ago. She shed her skin and died two days later. We probably weren't changing her water as often as we should have.
