kailua

To celebrate the end of my treatments, Mike and I planned a trip to Hawaii. We are spending the first weekend alone before the rest of the Jacobsen adults arrive.

After a 4 hour flight delay, we were on our way. Having premier status, Mike got one upgrade to first class. We decided to separate and I sat in first class! Gotta love the white table linens over the tray tables, the glass glasses, and the fancy food. With the delay, we missed kayaking upon arrival in Kailua, but were able to watch some of General Conference in the airport while waiting.

Our first stop in Hawaii was at the Liliha Bakery in Honolulu for fresh chocolate cream puffs and Hawaiian sweet bread. Then we took the Pali highway over the island to the Suite Spot, a little bed and breakfast in Kailua where we were staying. We walked down to the beach before the sunset to swim in the ocean! The water was a beautiful aqua color and warm. Perfect. It was kind of wild to think about being on an island in the middle of the ocean.
