halloween 2011

This Halloween we had two Harry Potter characters, one Percy Jackson character and a video game character!? Which one of those things doesn't belong. :) Sadie was Hermione and Elise was a deatheater (not pictured here). Emma was Annabeth from the Percy Jackson books (also not pictured). And Andrew choose Mario, no matter how many times I asked him if he was sure.

This year our festivities included parades at Sadie and Andrews schools and our ward Trunk-or-treat, in addition to trick-or-treating. On Halloween, Mike and I took the younger two trick-or-treating down one street in our neighborhood. We met lots of friends out and about. It was like a big party. Hermione and Luna Lovegood had fun together down one side of the street. The older girls both went with groups of friends this year.

Mike and I joined in the festivities in full costume. I dug this Jane Austin era dress pattern out of my box of unfinished projects from a few years ago. I was able to finish it up in time, after working on it during the month. About 5 minutes before we were leaving, Mike decided to escort me and pulled his costume together. We weren't exactly historically accurate, but it was fun to dress up.
