The girls spent a few months preparing for 'stake play', which is really more like musical skits. This year it was called Shine. Over 160 youth from our stake participated this year. It is a huge production done every three years. They started practicing in January and performed in 4 shows in March. The girls did a fantastic job! They learned a lot and had a blast with friends. Emma starred in a Cars medley lip-syncing to Route 66. Elise was in 5 varying numbers, from a flash mob dance, to a scarf creative movement number, to a few musical skits. At the last minute I was asked to participate. Their cellist dropped out, so I filled in, one of the few adults on stage. Wasn't I lucky? :) When I said yes, they conveniently didn't mention that we would be onstage in costume.
