Spring Visitors

Grandma Cherie and Uncle Richard were able to visit during our spring break. We were happy to have them both. Grandma Cherie arrived on Thursday, we took her to the park for a picnic and a little bit of birdwatching. Friday was our Monterey Bay Aquarium visit. Saturday morning we did some bird watching from the Baylands. We learned the difference between a Clark's Grebe and a Western Grebe and much more. For those who want to know - the Clark's Grebe has white around it's eye, not black and it has a orangeish yellow beak as opposed to the Western's greenish yellow beak. We watched them feeding - diving under, catching about a 4" fish and swallowing it down. It was a windy day, we especially enjoyed the birdwatching from the car.

Uncle Richard came down Saturday afternoon.
He helped us hang some pictures in our house, again. The girls were all over him, again. We had pizza for dinner and went to the kite park. It was a bit windy and cold, the kite broke and the kids were having a hard time, but still mostly fun, making it all a memorable experience.
