I helped chaperon Elise's girl scout troop's camping trip to camporee this year. Elise has two very dedicated leaders. The girls camped in tents, but I got to sleep in the building. My room/infirmary was the second story window behind the tents, which I shared with the ill scout. Saturday the girls participated in several activity lead by older scouts. The photo below is of one puzzle comparing birds' beaks and tools - making me think of Grandma Cherie. Have you done that activity before?
Elise and her troop (and her leaders) worked hard this year for each girl to earn the bronze award. We are very proud of them. Below, Elise lights a candle during the ceremony for the award. They also bridged from juniors(green vests) to cadets(brown vests) for next year.

I do a simplified version of that activity from Flying Wild curriculum. It's called "Fill the Bill." I made a poster with lots of birds'beaks. The kids match the bird to the food it eats on a worksheet, and then they pick up a gummy worm with chop sticks.
